Become A Volunteer

I affirm that all information provided on this application is complete and true. As a volunteer for the Mystic Seaport Museum, I agree to abide by all the museum’s policies and procedures, including its policies against sexual harassment. I understand that I will be volunteering at my own risk and that the organization, its employees and affiliates, cannot assume any responsibility or liability for any accident, injury or health problem which may arise from volunteer work I perform for the organization. I accordingly agree on behalf of myself and my heirs, personal representatives, and assigns, to release, and forever discharge, indemnify and hold harmless Mystic Seaport Museum together with its directors, agents, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, successors and assigns, from any and all liability, claims, causes of action, or and demands of whatever kind or nature either in law or equity, including costs and attorney fees, arising out of or relating to my volunteering with Mystic Seaport Museum. This Volunteer Application and Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Connecticut and should be interpreted in accordance with Connecticut law. If any portion of this Volunteer Application and Agreement is held to be invalid, it is agreed that the remainder shall continue to have full legal force and effect. I agree that all the work I do is on a volunteer basis and I am not eligible to receive any monetary payment, rewards, or other compensation of any kind. I also understand and agree that my volunteer service on behalf of Mystic Seaport Museum will not create nor be construed to create an agency, partnership, contractor, or employment relationship with Mystic Seaport Museum. I understand that the museum reserves the right to terminate my service as a volunteer when, in the opinion of management, such action is warranted.
