Overnight programs

The Museum offers the following overnight opportunities during the academic year, providing immersive maritime experiences for youth groups, school groups, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts.

ANCHOR WATCH (AGES 6–18)

Anchor Watch provides an opportunity for youth groups to experience sleeping on board the 1882 square-rigged vessel JOSEPH CONRAD and to engage in hands-on activities the next day. Anchor Watch is appropriate for any youth group ages 6–18 and select programs allow scouts to achieve certain badges.

SCOUTING

Scouts can earn a variety of badges, patches, and beads on special day trips to Mystic Seaport Museum.

SHIP TO SHORE

The Ship to Shore Overnight Program offers school groups the opportunity to become immersed in American history. By exploring the Museum’s seaport village and sleeping aboard the 1882 square-rigged ship JOSEPH CONRAD, students will experience history in a way that simply can’t be done in the classroom.

PLANETARIUM PROGRAMS

The Treworgy Planetarium offers workshops for many different levels of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. These workshops satisfy most, or in some cases all, of the requirements for belt loops, merit badges, and Girl Scout badges.
