Mystic Seaport Museum Magazine

The Mystic Seaport Museum Magazine is published twice per year in the spring and the fall. Museum Members receive the magazine early in the mail. Copies are available for visitors at each Museum entrance.

The Spring/Summer 2024 issue of the Mystic Seaport Museum Magazine features the exhibition, Entwined: Freedom, Sovereignty, and the Sea, which centers maritime histories in Indigenous, African, and African American worldviews and experiences. New York-based writer Osman Can Yerebakan shares his experience as the Museum’s first writer in residence. A special section titled “Find Your Sea Story” explores the connection we all have to the sea, whether through tales of immigration, cherished family narratives, inaugural experiences on the water, a love for boating, or a special moment at Mystic Seaport Museum. We invite you to read this issue and visit the Museum to find your sea story!

The Fall/Winter 2023 issue of the Mystic Seaport Museum Magazine features the exhibition, Spineless: A Glass Menagerie of Blaschka Marine Invertebrates, which explores some of the inspiring ways that people have tried to record the ocean’s mesmerizing marine invertebrates, an announcement of the Museum’s low carbon transformation strategy, and a special tribute to the historied Mystic River, as well as news from across the Museum!

The Spring/Summer 2023 issue of the Mystic Seaport Museum Magazine features the exhibition, Alexis Rockman: Oceanus, and articles on Blue Technology, the Blue Economy, and introduced species, highlighting a shift in perspective at the Museum to raise awareness and inspire conversations around the critical global issues that face our oceans due to the impacts of maritime activities as part of our collective cultural, social, and economic heritage. Also included is news from the Shipyard on the L. A. Dunton and Coronet projects, Sabino’s return to the water, and much more!
