Bus Tour Visits to the Museum

Additional Activities

Enjoy a one-hour highlight tour led by a knowledgeable Museum educator. Your group will explore the fascinating history of the Charles W. Morgan, the last wooden whaleship, along with highlights from at least two other special exhibitions—an engaging and educational experience for all to enjoy.

Highlight Tour: $10

Get out on the water by taking a 30 minute public cruise aboard Sabino. Built in 1908, Sabino is one of the Museum’s four National Historic Landmark vessels. While the vessel’s coal powered steam system is intact, as of 2023 Sabino runs on an auxiliary electric system powered by two small diesel generators.

30-minute cruises: $8 per person

A variety of dining options is offered to suit any group. Enjoy a relaxed sit-down meal in a casual setting or visit our quaint tavern for a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. For added convenience, we also offer boxed lunches, perfect for groups on the go. Whatever your group’s needs, we have the right option to make your visit enjoyable and easy.

From New York City and Points Traveling North on I-95:

  1. Take Exit 90 off Interstate 95.

  2. Turn right at end of exit ramp onto Route 27 South (Greenmanville Ave).

  3. Mystic Seaport Museum is on the right one mile south on Route 27.

From Boston and Points Traveling South on I-95:

  1. Take Exit 90 off Interstate 95.

  2. Turn left at end of exit ramp onto Route 27 South (Greenmanville Ave).

  3. Mystic Seaport Museum is on the right one mile south on Route 27.

All bus parking is located in the South Parking Lot (GPS: 50 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic, CT), directly across from the large red tugboat.

Please refer to your confirmation for specific drop-off instructions, as the group itinerary will determine the most appropriate location.

It can take at least three hours to explore what the Museum has to offer.

The Museum’s campus features both indoor and outdoor areas, including uneven walking surfaces and stairs. We recommend dressing for the weather and wearing comfortable shoes.

There are benches and chairs throughout the Museum’s 19 acres for guests to take a break from walking.

No unauthorized vehicles are allowed on the grounds. Only authorized vehicles are allowed before the Museum opens at 10:00 a.m. or after the Museum closes for the day.

Mystic Aquarium is a wonderful place to visit, but please note that it is a separate institution located about five minutes away from Mystic Seaport Museum. We are not affiliated with the Aquarium, though we do love the penguins!
