Telling time by lunar distances, the angle from the Sun to the Moon in the most common case, is an extension of one of the oldest methods of telling time: reading the phase of the Moon.

Monday*–Thursday Collins Gallery in the Thompson Exhibition Building open. Remaining campus closed.
Friday–Sunday North campus, all exhibition galleries, and whaleship Charles W. Morgan open. Grounds close at 5:00 p.m.
*CLOSED JANUARY 19, MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY, AND FEBRUARY 16, PRESIDENTS’ DAY
South Entrance, Village, and Shipyard will reopen March 20. Ticket prices are reduced during this time.
